Since nothing is moving here, you could have stopped down and gotten more of the scene in focus. Maybe this result was what you intended - it does look kind of cinematic, but that little guy at LL bugs me. Nice work on the bg and icy ground. Sharpened within an inch of it's life.

How About Another Cold One

Correctly exposed with no distracting reflections or background elements. All in focus. I guess an open bottle is more inviting (but then you'd have had to drink two after the shoot) and the hole in the foam isn't pretty. Overall, a solid image, but without any special appeal.

IMO, macro photography works much better when it's sharp throughout, or at least the entire foreground is within the DOF. The highlight in the foreground draws my eye right to the out of focus part of the bell.

A bit of foam core or white paper at camera left to bounce some light back into the shadows would be nice, but you've captured the product in an appropriate environment. The effect falls apart a little at the top - the pillow and brown wall (?) don't do much to push your message, but the other elements are great.

Nice tones, but I'm not sure about the composition. The edge of the mug draws the eye, but is out of focus, and the black / woodgrain background makes it feel lopsided to me.

The angle of her face gives her an impish, anime look that works really well. Full of promise... There's a term for the whites of the eyes being visible below the irises, but I can't remember what it is. It's deadly, though. Her shirt makes a great background for the bottle, as well. On the downside, the spots on the shirt detract, and the undiffused flash is very harsh and played hob with her skin tones and the bottle reflections. The washed out sky is a bit of a bummer (remember to order a nice blue one in advance next time). It would be nice to have more Pepsi in the bottle, and I'm not wild about the way she's smooshing the straw. Okay... and lose that finger. All the negatives aside, a very, very good bit of work.

Just so fine, but you know that. Might have been more effective cropped top, bottom and left to remove the lighting glare and airspace in the bottle - would have tightened everything up a bit for better or worse, but them's pretty small pomme de terre. Congratulations!
