Rollin' Down County Road 209by KivetComment: Nice. It does give the feel of going down a country road. I like the fence silhouette in back. I wonder if you could get some dust from the wheels in it to make it more realistic, and maybe place the horizon line a bit higher in the frame to give it a more dynamic look. ~7 |

What lies beneathby BrennanOBComment: Ahhh, a snake! Love the orange on brown. It's probably not the best match for "dirt", because the snake draws so much attention to itself. ~6 |

Good Scratchby RistyzComment: Hey, this is good! My favourite so far. Perfect for the challenge. ~10 |

Pretty In Pinkby JudiComment: Hmmm. I think I've seen this little girl before. You need to give your kids a bath on occasion, you know :)))) (or send them to the beach). It's a good entry to the challenge. I wish the shirt were a plain fabric (the print looks like a pickle with wings). Did you try a closer crop? ~8 |

What She Thinks of Him Nowby RebeccaComment: Took me a moment to figure out the title. I really like this entry. Very creative. Is this at a cemetery? Or, what is the thing at the top right? I hope you didn't have to break all those beautiful little roses just for this picture, that would be a shame. Is that ice? ~9 |

Dirt is Good :)by silverscreenComment: Yeah! Love it. Great entry for the challenge. Love the square crop. If I were to suggest an improvement, I'd try (1) a cleaner looking towel for the hair (on my monitor it looks like it needs a wash); (2) a crop that would not include the little bits of squares at the top end of the photo; (3) a bit more sharpness on the cucumbers. ~8 |

Dirty by LalliSigComment: Odd picture. The hair and shoulders look almost like a negative, whereas the face/neck don't. It's a beautiful image in a way, although, what is missing (to me) is any reason why such a beautiful young woman would get all muddy like that, especially with makeup on. ~9 |

All the dirt that's fit to printby CitadelComment: The idea is good (for this challenge), but I think the start, black background doesn't do much to sell it (the idea). There seems to be a connection missing somehow, a reader, a printing press, a place where they sell these things, something. As it is, it's just floating there on black. ~6 |

Flowers by librodoComment: Manny? She looks almost too clean for a "dirt" challenge :) Beautiful picture, sort of risky, I think. I think most people wouldn't put the girl at the edge in the middle there, and the big wall overpowering the right hand side, but it works! Two things I would consider (if I dare) - (1) to make her dirtier, maybe the dress dirtier; (2) to put the dead flowers to the other side and her more in the bottom corner, maybe even try to increase the sense of almost vertigo. The light is great. ~8 |

lostby rinacComment: Looks like the tracks from a giant jeep going over a rounded shape, like a little earth. Very beautiful. I like the sense of anxiety that you get from the top/bottom frames, they sort of "compress" the image and make it urgent. ~9 |
