sorry my comment was so terse. in the painting it seems like there is a light source coming directly at the subject from behind the painter. I noticed it most on the hands but you can also see it under the eyes. In your photo these areas are completely dark.

this title really took me on a journey. I think the painting you're referring to is actually a rip off of Georgia O'Keeffe by Harold Davis:

It lacks the immediacy and vulnerability of O'Keeffe.

One clue that it's a rip-off is the title. Georgia O'Keeffe didn't name any paintings after Seal songs.
