Crowded Crosswalkby EssAreDubyaComment: Hi from the Critique Club...
My first impressions are that I don't know if you meant the subject to be the man walking towards me or the man walking away. I keep looking from one to the other rather than having my eye settle on one. I think this is the biggest factor in the final score.
As a couple of the commenters noted, there is also very little else going on in the shot. if you look at the high scorers you note the following:
1. the are usually B&W - I don't know why but this seems to enhance candit shots like this
2. the subject tells a story
your shot tells a story but it is very much a short-story (man crosses road) compared to the novel that most people want, where they can engage with the subject.
Good luck in future challenges |

Transient Sound Star Beachby Jason_CrossComment: Your comments say it all! On DPC this would not score well at all but it is a good image. The editing is well done. It reminds me of the 60's (not that I was around in the 60's!) |

Call Of The Wildby rinacComment: I find the colours a bit bright. Great composition but my first impression was "whoa! where'd I put my sunnies?" ;)
He looks like a New Zealand peacock too. A North Island variety if I'm not mistaken. So, where do we find this type of Peacock? Auckland Zoo? Western Springs? Shapespear park? ;)
In all seriousness I think that you'll have trouble passing this off as "wild" as most people will think "She just found one at the local xyz".
PS: Not voting. |

Let it Snow! by DrAchooComment: Thanks for putting in the setup details and picture, that helps us 'lesser' photogs and also helps us see how great the shot really is! |

The O is risingby gisliComment: This is a fantastic shot, there is so much to find of interest...the horses, the buildings, the contrast in tones, a well deserved 9 |
