I like the concept. Without the title, I wouldn't have got it. However, connection or not, it's still a technically sound image. My thoughts on this echo the other commenters with respect to spots and egg position, but I also wondered if a different perspective may have lifted this? Maybe level with the egg rather than a downward point of view? Just a thought :)

Over saturating the colours is really what has given this the edge here. I thought it was a great entry. Had I voted, I would have given it a 7. Cool lens flare on the upper left too!

I typically do like grain in monotoned images, but I'm not sure it's done you any favours here. I guess it may be because I'd prefer to see 'flesh' as smooth and as something that would be wonderful to touch, but the overall feeling I get here is gritty and hard. I see you've softened the highlights somewhat (diffused glow?) and that does help to a certain degree. Also. I think your subject's pose and title match perfectly and do well to aid the viewer in believing the message you're conveying. Well done, if this is an sp, I think you are very brave. Cheers, Rina.
