Thanks for the input. It was a total experiment and I would have never submitted something like this because of the unclarity. I think I put some blur on it, too. It really lacks depth. The other ones I took without the rays, also didn't have much depth.
Here's the B/W version - definitely has something. Good idea.

The shadows cast from the railing are great. The light coming from the left is a little distracting. The other two you posted don't have that, but then they also don't have the cool shadows. :o) Overall fabulous shots!
