Do Not Standby xianartComment: Oh damn. I started reading the poem and immediately burst into tears. For one, it's so very moving in itself. Then, my mom has asked for it to be read at her memorial service - when she dies, which I hope will not be for a while, but it's looming.
And then I read your comment, and it made my heart heavy. Losing parents is one of life's kicks in the gut, as far as I'm concerned. So sorry for your (quite recent) loss, Christian, and thanks for sharing this photo - the memory - with us. The process is excellent and very fitting.
Oh, I just read what Judy said - yes, I was thinking something along those lines: they may not be here, but the color of their memory is still alive, the sparkle in your heart - I love what you've done with the photo and the words. |

Got The Pictureby bobgaitherComment: This is a very cool photo, but it's not a blurry mess. Wish you could have submitted it to another challenge. |

"Queen of Light" The Battle of Evermoreby swordandsigilComment: Though your score may not reflect it, this is an excellent image. Original and compelling - very fitting for the challenge, too.
Congrats on the Posthumous Yellow - a prize that many covet and few receive. |

Tea spoonby MelethiaComment: What a beautiful and thoughtful image, Deb. The BW tones are exquisite, as well as your focus on the spoon handle and the little flower on the cup. It really tells a story. Love it. Congrats on your top... um... 30?? Should have been higher. |

parkingby nixterComment: Let me echo Roz by saying I immediately knew this had to be yours.
And as an aside... I'm curious to know from where you take these street shots - from a house? An office? The roof? Are you on a light pole? On top of a car? Wherever it is, there seem to be pedestrians that you can turn into wildly interesting images. Nobody walks the streets here - too far, too hot, too dangerous.
The photo - as usual, underrated. As always, totally excellent. Beautifully seen and composed. Very funny with the Parking on the ground and the walkie sign right next to it. Great use of colors, too. |
