Fogstarby lynnesiteComment: Wow, love the power and the play of this running horse. Love how you caught the action of running and the hair of the main and tail tossing. Also of interest is the poise of the horses head as it shakes it head the muscles in it's neck stand out and we get a sense of power of this magnificent beast. My only critique on this great action shot is that the composition could be cropped such that the main subject dominates the frame. Keep our attention focused on the power and beauty of this majestic horse as it runs by cropping out the unnecesary background. |

Christmas in Seattleby cabaComment: Love how this shapes from the window are included in this composition. It really adds a dramatic and artistic flare to the downtown scene of seattle. I love how one 'panel' you see the landmark Needle. Again the windows create an interesting shaped panel look that turns this downtown scene into a dynamic and dramatic eyecatching photo. |

On my ownby AmasonComment: Love how the curves of the road twist and bend. We can visually follow the path of the cyclist through the curvey mountain road. A shame that the cyclist was not wearing a vibrantly bold color that would make him pop off the dark black road - but that is not in your control. |

Golden raysby LalliSigComment: Love how the rich and vibrantly warm color of the orange red sky contrast so sharply with the stark white and cold ground plane covered with snow. What makes the photo so appealing isn't just the contrast between cold and warm in colors but there is the feeling of cold isolation seen in the abandoned and falling apart buildings. That feeling/mood of abandoned dwellings of a 'cold still life' if you will plays into and complements the cold environment of the icy snow. |

A Glimmer of Hopeby HRoxasComment: It is that single beam of light shining through the broken window that adds soooo much to the scene and mood of the shot. Well done. The scene in this 'warehouse' is bare and thus the single figure sitting all alone hunched over in this great big empty space speaks of isolation & a feeling of helplessness. But as the title and that single ray of light falling on the individual speaks that even then, a glimmer of hope exists. |

The Lighthouseby Kaja LundComment: I really like the perspective of this shot of a lighthouse. Not the atypical shot of a lighthouse on the beach or a straight shot. This is trully unique in approach. The lighthouse is seen in the background behind the riggings and mast of a ship. Love the relationship you capture here. For these two subjects do have a working relationship to one another. The ship relies on the lighthouse to give it safe harbor in times of need and the lighthouse provides the service of being a beacon to ships in trouble. |

Realm of the Deerby AlexSaberiComment: You could not ask for a better opportunity to happen in your backyard - this is really a wonderful capture. I absolutely love all the warm autumn colors seen here in this photo and the deer. The deer all stand there with their majestic antlers standing watch over their realm. |

Flight by jemisonComment: I really like the play of colors and overall scenery in this particular shot;-) The colors of the balloons are not only a wonderful splash of color to the landscape of the sky but the sometimes pastel soft colors compliment (act in partnership) to the soft warm/dark colors of the forested landscape dominating the foreground. The fog/mist rolling off of the landscape softens the look and turns it into a magical scene. What I really like about this one is all the soft (not overly brilliant and vibrantly bold) colors that are seen throughout the composition. I really feel the soft light of the morning as these balloons rise and take flight. Also something that is a real shame that it was not better lit - the bird that is seen in flight in the foreground would have really added an extra special touch to the overall scene. We see it's shape but it is a dark silhouette that if better lit would be a companion to the other main objects in flight in this photo. |

Hollowby SJCarterComment: Where to start....The colors are all dark and grungy adding to the feel and mood of feeling desolate. There are textures present in this photo that makes your eyes explore and "feel' this man's 'environment' The green steps and the brick wall are dirty, gritty - which is the feel and mood of this photo. But what really arrests the viewer is the man looking at the camera. His ice blue eyes drown us in a sea of sorrow and despondancy as we look upon his face that speaks of homelessness... |

Carnival in Veniceby FranziskaLangComment: This Lady in Red really and truly stands out from the background. Compositionally interesting is that the washed out stark white background really compliments this lady's face which is a white carnival mask. The red and blacks of her costume adds bold vibrancy and really pops off of that stark white (and very cold day I imagine) background. |
