Obviously he's not in the lead according to your title, but it does leave you pondering some things. Where in the race is this? Is it near the end with no time left to catch up and pass? Is he not as close as he appears(has a telephoto lens compressed the scene)?

The b&w conversion is very good. Good use of DOF with just the right placement of focus. Well done!

I really like this composition...so out of the ordinary and very well balanced. I also like the personification going on between the tree and building. The palm looks as though it is tapping on the shoulder of the building trying to get its attention. Like Sevil, I also like the tones. Well done!

The oranges and grays of the desaturation make for a very bold color dynamic. The grays also give a bit of a moodiness to the photo. Very nice photo!
