Apologies - I thought I'd added this to my favorites long ago. A magnificent photograph - glad to see you had it printed as part of the set. I'd imagine it looks quite awesome printed!

Something gigantic and massive about this group effort. What a capture. Congratulations on your top 10 finish.

This awesome. Could be a photo from the 1920's. I like the b&w.

Hey there from the Critique Club

So, what is there that I could possibly add here other than I think your horizon may be tilted a hair? I do see that corinne also added a silly comment to yours as well. I am left to assume that the word 'sport' means something totally different in her native language. I do like this capture a lot! It is my absolute favorite in this challenge, closely followed by this one:

Notice that corinne left a really original comment there as well. You did a fantastic job with every aspect of this image (save the slight tilt that I think I see). You were far underscored with this one, but duotone images are often overlooked on DPC. Still, fantastic work, and I look forward to more.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

I must say i'm humbled by the comments, thank you. We've made a 5 shot set and mounted them for my Daughters boy-friend who took part ( Oh, and came 11th in his age group ) which features this and shots of him through the Tri, again all down in B&W, which looks good, especially teh facial expressions.

this is a great perspective - the mass of humanity is amazing - i love how they are all getting prepared - stretching, moving, planning the swim
05/13/2007 04:24:40 PM
Great shot that tells a story. And with the dark suits and bright caps, the black and white processing works perfectly.
05/13/2007 12:22:56 PM
Very good black and white conversion. Excellent shot with a very cool perspective.

I don't believe what I'm seeing. 1000 people dressed in black with white swimming caps? And what's with the right arms raised? Well, I must get on with the voting, can't stay here all night. 10 for being a real show-stopper!

My highest rated photo. Amazing host. Almost a perfect 10, a 9 do to compression artifacts. Very minor though to a stunning photo.

Very classic style to this photo. I never thought a bunch of people standing around in swim caps could be so cool. Excellent job!

Great shot! Really captures an early morning TRI! I realize why you had to go B&W as well. Great choice!

Despite being a nice photograph, this entry does not fall within the parameters of this weeks challenge (action). That being said, I must judge this photograph accordingly. :-(
