Delightfully Psychotic Cyclists

I like this photo, especially the three cyclists in a row. The title was fine with me (virtually all titles in this challenge are a stretch for movie titles). Good angle and capture. It's not easy to time action shots, even with rapid fire capabilities. I thought the focus was not too crisp, though. Maybe a different f-stop and a bit slower speed would have worked better (1/500?). In the sunlight was ISO400 necessary? I don't actually know, because I haven't made any sports shots myself.

I liked the idea and the title, but the postprocessing looked too heavy for my taste...just too dark. Nice hat though. I know this critique is not too helpful.

I think this is just one of those ideas you just have to try because you want to. I know I've wandered down that path before myself. Come to think of it, I charged down that path in this same challenge. I had a nice hat too. ;-)

I liked this photo and gave it a 6. I would have scored it higher if the flash had not been so overpowering. Terrific subject matter and great capture. Colors on the birds' throats are amazing. Good focus.

I gave this a 5. It's hard to get worked up over dirty water (photographically, that is) even though the photo and title make a strong statement. I thought it would have scored higher if the fish filled the frame more. (You are right, though. This water looks putrid.)

Twinkle, Twinkle

I thought this picture was done well. I like the range of tones from white lights to pitch black sky and left foreground. I like the inclusion of the foreground because it balances the skyline and helps add depth to the photo. The leading lines of the road way draw my eye into the heart of the picture. The star-burst street lights are an added plus.

I think the floor area in this photo is a bit washed out. I think a bit more darkening would have solved that and given the whole picture more crispness. I might have cropped out the little piece in the upper right hand corner because my eye keeps going up there and that is not the focal point of the photo. Composition is otherwise excellent. The colors are good, the subject matter is intriguing, and the photo has even more potential. Judging by the scores, I think I might be more critical than most voters who seem to like it even more.

I liked this shot a lot. The noise in the sky was a little distracting, but other than that, I liked the colors, lighting, focus, and subject matter. I gave it an 8.
