What a great shot... his eyes are intense. I agree about the green cast... the original photo seemed to have a red cast (though... my monitor is far from being calibrated itself). One way to overcome any of that without calibrating your monitor would be to convert this to black and white.

This is my favourite of the three edits, although, I would prefer if the boy was a little brighter. Have you tried doing a brightness layer, and masking out everything but the boy.

Even without the extra brightness, I really like the emotion in this shot. It really does a good job a kid being a kid.

I find that the storefront title and the photographer work really well together. Either it was coincidence that she was there in front of the store for you, or you were staking it out for hours, waiting for the right opportunity. Nice photo overall. The colours and sharpness were enhanced nicely, and this might also look nice in black and white.

My absolute favourite in this challenge. If I were to try to explain what bokeh is to someone else, who doesnt know the term, this photo would be what I choose to show them as a perfect example. I expect to see this on the front page next tuesday.

Such a stunning photo, just wish I could see it larger. I like the crop you chose, but perhaps a different crop would have allowed the image to be larger, and might have given you a higher score. 8 from me.

I was only able to see the differences in makeup after having read the title. The black and white conversion took away from the colour, and also from conveying the before and after.

to be honest, i like the editing that you did for the entered photo. The new processing looks a little over done to me. Shame you didnt do better in the challenge though.

After reading your description, it got me curious.... have you ever had any of your pictures features on APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day)? I have that site as my homepage, and use it for my classes quite often (I am a science teacher).
