This is what I got when I concentrated on the two boys.
usm, levels, Hue/saturation, a little tweak with brightness/conrast, border, duplicate layer, apply styles ( clear glass button ) select image and cut so that the style is only on the border, flatten image, resize, stw.

It's amazing what a crop and some processing can do. Well done.

Nice transformation from what most would call a "snapshot" into a fine piece of candid portraiture. The border works pretty well; fits in with the concrete and sand.

I like this crop, but I don't think the resolution is there and so this looks a bit soft. Personally I love your original. Yes, it's busy and chaotic and there's a lot going on, but that's what I like about it. I'll comment more there...

You did a great job bringing the boys out! I'm surprised they look so good being such a huge crop. Excellent pp work!

I agree about the frame, but only as far as the effect is concerned. The color is a nice match to the photo. Looks like a little color NR would help. But otherwise, its a nice focus from the original.

I agree with nshapiro. The cropped version is a huge improvement, but I dont like the border. You changed a busy shot into a nice simple shot with your crop.

Good job finding the "shot" within the shot. Well edited as well. The frame detracts, though IMHO.
