Funny..shot and my observation. Great shot! I voted it a 9 and thought it would do much better. I was reading through the comments I made in this challenge and noticed that the image that won the blue I commented that it would have been better if the dog had a pencil in his mouth and voted it lower than this one by more than a few. I like the feel/mood of this shot - DoF is good, colors are good, just a fun image. Should have placed better IMO.

I like the serenity and composition of the shot. I feel it could use a bit of sharpening though. I did download your version and applied a simple sharpening pass to it and it stands out so much clearer. With a bit more work this could be an outstanding photo. The right amount of complication balanced with the right amount of simplicity. Love the beer bottle on the post. Not sure about the sneakers though. Either all the way in or out of the shot. A toss up.
