This is a good workman portrait. I like the toned down color. On my LCD it looks too sharp but on tube analogue sharpness is very near perfect - there is no answer.

This kind of picture makes an impression on me. I like this idea of the hard/soft composition - iron and shadow.
Finding relationships in this type of scene is often rewarding, as it requires the photographer to take time to explore & discover the optimum view of the play of light.
