Mexican brain coral.by zymaraComment: A difficult subject....... your exposure is pretty good - detail in the shadow is evident and highlights except for the left side is about right. A nice specimen! |

"riet"by middelboschComment: riet - Real Estate Institute of Tasmania or real estate investment trust. Probably not. Unusuall word for a basket weave. Another meaning for the word according to my dictionary is sedge or seaweed [Prov. Eng.] I can see how this may have been woven from those materials....... Maybe it is a word which relates to some type of weaving? Regardless of your title definition, your picture is sharp and clear, colours appear to be accurate. Exposure is beautiful, with shadow detail and highlights totally legible. Nice traditional subject matter. Message edited by author 2004-02-25 00:15:58. |

Agaveby carlacrypticComment: soft pastel colour different from the plant? but still in the spirit of the true colour of the agave some how. I think superior vertical composition and use of the shadow - which might be even more dramatic if darker, however still very effective. Pink and purple barbs as a secondary design focus provides extra complexity to the design. Very adept composition and design. |

cataclysmic tamingby xburnerxComment: Top lit soft edged material, maybe q-tips or something woven, bunched into the more or less centered triangle on the black back has great detail. The hardly noticable depth of field and the sepia add something extra.... well done piece. |

Lamp Shade Labyrinthby ozaibakComment: Paper shade with random opaque strands of fiber - it appears that the light is on! Various sizes of the strands eludes to depth on this sand like mottled field. For me the black window restrains - I could see this one bleed and breath to the edge. |

Shaggyby neilmwilsonComment: High score for this - colour appears very natural and detail of the delicate hair is rendered so well. The receding seamless depth of field is pleasing. |

textures of an egg cartonby ScantyNebulaComment: This has to be a challenge favorite. I appreciate the egg carton, a simple found object - which you have transformed by closeup into a minimal abstract of clarity and good design. |

Gearby LoudDogComment: ........good interesting subject. Would have prefered the sky cropped out completely to create a tighter design. |
