This is a relic I found at an old mine site. I propped it on the fence on a day with a spectacular blue sky and fired away.
Cropped, levels adjusted and sharpened.

Your portfolio is full of marvelous photos. I liked your bio and it sounds like you are well on your way to becoming the photographer you really aspire to be. Keep up the good work.

Simple shot, simple idea, I was very happy withthe results. I honestly spent about 15 minutes on this shot and took less then 20 shots. This one was my favorite of the bunch.

very well done. I think a little more crop on the right side, we really don't need to see all fo the gear would make this even more dramatic 9

Very nice! I can just feel the rough, sharp and dirty texture here! I like your choice of background too!

Seems like it needs to be closer to get the 'Texture' of the grooves, but then you would lose the great composition.

Such direct light perhaps mutes the feel of this - making the shape of the whole thing rather more imprtant to the image than the feel of it. Slightly odd angle to choose, relegating that cut end of shaft so far out of frame. Good colour, but not in the end a convincing entry for me.

Great use of DOF. I like the blue background.

What really makes this shot is the talent of the photographer. Not a subject I think would be interesting to shoot - but I like this. Wonderful, clear focus and composition. I like the shadow and the blue sky just sets it all off. Well done.

I like the idea. But the blue background jars a bit imho

........good interesting subject. Would have prefered the sky cropped out completely to create a tighter design.

More DOF would have really nailed this shot... I like it tho. 7
