I didn't have a chance to comment on this during but I think it's a beautiful shot. I like the composition, colors and textures! I thought it was going to do much much better! |

Think a sharpening tool or better focus would boost this up quite a few notches. |

High score for this - colour appears very natural and detail of the delicate hair is rendered so well. The receding seamless depth of field is pleasing. |

Haven't I already seen a photo of this exact horse on here? That is some fine texture! Or rather, coarse horse. |

Beautiful close shot of horse/pony. Just needs a catchlight in the eye to give a focal point. |

I like your pony image with its good texture in the mane and face. (Looks like one of those beautiful Icelandic blond beauties) Good definition, but if it was a bit sharper it would be even better. |

IMO, it would have been stronger with a fuller view of the face. this isn't too bad, though. |

As with almost all animal shots, the immediate point of interest for the viewer's eye is the subject's eye - it's almost a photographic maxim that so long as the eye is in focus it doesn't matter too much about the rest of the subject. Shooting it half-masked like this produces a sense of confusion, I think. Along the line of the nose, and some of that fringe there is certainly a sense of texture, but your composition of this has unbalanced that, for me, and i find my eye wandering through the frame without finding a point to hold it. |

[World Record Attempt]
+ Shaggy sure has textures!
- I would have liked to see more of shaggy's eye; perhaps a different POV would have brought more appeal? |

Need a little more DOF to get the eye in focus. |
