| Beautiful closeup. The light is producing some great shadow and highlights that is making the composition interesting. I like that you can see the fibers of the wood. The repetition of the same pattern is very pleasing to the eye. "10" |

riet - Real Estate Institute of Tasmania or real estate investment trust. Probably not. Unusuall word for a basket weave. Another meaning for the word according to my dictionary is sedge or seaweed [Prov. Eng.] I can see how this may have been woven from those materials....... Maybe it is a word which relates to some type of weaving? Regardless of your title definition, your picture is sharp and clear, colours appear to be accurate. Exposure is beautiful, with shadow detail and highlights totally legible. Nice traditional subject matter.

| This is a good textural shot that meets the Challenge nicely. For added interest, you might consider introducing a different shape or color to set off the reeds. |

| Nice lighting, but I would have tried to get the horizontal weave perfectly horizontal. At this slight angle it looks too off-handed to be really striking, for me. You could try centering the black part in a strong Thirds location, to draw the eye to an interesting detail that's kind of lost up near the top. |

| Very good on the texture here. Good rhythmically too - and the slight progression of light, both in intensity and angle across frame is effective. Kind of thing that would make a good tiling pattern, but simply doesn't have enough to hold my interest long. technically exemplary though, nevertheless. |

| repetative patterns like this need something to break it up in my opinion. Otherwsie they become a bit dull. Nice lighting on this though. |
