your lens compression contributes a beautiful effect to an awesome composition. This also is a favorite weed of mine, a shy, timid but spectacular bloomer, the seed puffs tend to be most often photographed.

A formal arrangement, tight to the edges, more air to the sides might be a consideration to this centered composition. Drawn deckle edge pulls my attention away from a rather interesting interpretation.

The coach is standing alone, the deep contrast supports the idea, but with the team... I agree the photo is marginal to the idea of being solo. However, the picture does have a lot of merit as a part of a season record of the team & coach. I like it.
