The Phantom of the Opera (1920. Gaston Leroux)by DenielleComment: 4..it seems like the obvious solution to me. The execution could be better. The light is flat and seems to be from above. The b&W conversion is nice and contrasty but it lacks depth. Many shadow areas have lost their information and the whites could use a bit more pop. |

Cold Comfort Farm - Stella Gibbons by StagoleeComment: 6...it's a farm, I guess...that's the only tie I see to the book, or maybe to the title only. The texture of the greens is quite pleasing, as is the overall general color of the image. |

The Secret Gardenby pmichaudComment: 6...this hints at the story quite nicely. the greens down the path appear to be overexposed and have turned into this blobby looking mass with little to no texture or information. It's a difficult exposure to say the least. |

The Water Babies ~ Charles Kingsleyby Ja-9Comment: 6...I don't know that this has anything to do with the besides the title, but it is pretty. My one gripe would be that I wish the fish at the top had a bit more breathing room. The fish at the bottom looks lovely in all her chiffon. |
