Karen has really inspired me to try total Defocus, among other things. I enjoy experimenting, but Karen truly is The Queen of photographic experimentation. Plus it's just plain fun to try new things!

Such soft, quiet light...my eye keeps wanting more space around the birds, particularly at the top...more inky blackness. But I have no idea what was above so I really can't say a different crop or bit of framing would have been an option. There is something unsettling about the crop...I also like that you've chosen a B&W conversion, particularly for flamingos, lets us enjoy the textures of the feathers, the silkiness of them.

I have got to get some high test film...I'm loving these ISO 3200 photos that have been posted. Makes me wonder how high ISO + Lensbaby would look...gotta try it!
