I'm quite pleased with how this one came out. The original was nothing much:
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/86628/120/812498.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/86628/120/812498.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

I think the BW conversion added a whole lot to the impact of this image.

Woohoo, my first one to get published at 1x.com

Took me a moment to realize what I was looking at. I think the sizing down to 720 pixels fails to do it justice. I'd love to see this in a larger size if you have it posted elsewhere. Probably loads of wonderful details to be seen.

Such soft, quiet light...my eye keeps wanting more space around the birds, particularly at the top...more inky blackness. But I have no idea what was above so I really can't say a different crop or bit of framing would have been an option. There is something unsettling about the crop...I also like that you've chosen a B&W conversion, particularly for flamingos, lets us enjoy the textures of the feathers, the silkiness of them.

(Whisper) Ok...lovely pic...works well in B&W...I would have liked the bird on the far right to be more in line with the other two (Whisper)

Oh how very lovely. The hushed tones match the hushed nature of the shot.
