What a wonderful story about roasting coffee. Like the blog entry alot. Says a lot about your interests and pursuits. I on the other hand am a whole bean fanatic for eight o clock coffee. I love freshly grinding it. Haven't tried roasting my own. Sounds like something I would like to try.

Interesting shot. The glare is definitely a problem. The only way around it is either long exposure, or adding some studio type lighting. Thanks for showing a bit of our hidden selves. Our closets are most often off limits to curious eyes.

Funny. Well, you still have another 40 days to try harder. STill, the slant of light is very neat. I actually think the monitor is distracting. The shot with just the rest of the desk would be much stronger with the main purpose of the image showing the many textures and forms on the desk. A very worthy reason to take such a shot.

Great idea. You might get a better result by using nearly parallel sidelighting to give more form, shape and texture to the star anise seed.
