Day-8 Christmas Marketby carofoComment: Hmmmm. Since we never have snow at Christmas, this scene looks fine to me. 8P We never have snow on the roof either, so I won't quibble. Nice night/twilight scene that captures the season well. |

Polar Diverby vladoComment: Very cool. You really got an excellent stop-action on this. I love it.
It reminds me of the Coca-Cola bears in the ad that they run every year at Christmas. I don't know if they run the ads outside the US or not. |

Moon and Four Palm Treesby GermaineComment: Originally posted by bobonacus: They are really tall! |
A couple of you have commented on how tall these palm trees are. They are queen palms, and I'd guess that they are around 50' tall. There are a lot of them around town, and as a child I remember the fire department using their hook and ladder truck to trim them. Now, the city has a couple of cherry-pickers that they send around to do the job. Queen palms are very graceful, beautiful trees, but they do go up like a torch in fires -- OK for in the city, but not a good idea for gardens in the fire zones as some people learned during the Tea Fire.
Here's a link to more information about them. |

Whatever 04by KenComment: It's amazing what shows up in reflections. Kind of reminds me of a shot I did back when I was entering challenges. The effect of the Fractalius layer on the Christmas ball is is interesting -- sort of looks like one of those ornaments that have flocking on the outside. |
