Good detail on this shot, and definitely nice and close. I feel like the colors in the shot are a little bit flat. Not sure if that's due to lighting or what. But I feel like if the blue on the wrapper was brighter and the color of the chocolate stood out a bit more, this photo would really pop. I like the composition a lot, with the chocolate over to the side.

Colors in this photo are good. I like seeing the bee in motion. I think that the harsh sun causes us to lose some of the detail on the insect, especially in the wings. Perhaps underexposing the photo would help a little with that. Good composition!

Good detail and clarity on the grasshopper. I think that grass or some other texture might have made a more interesting background for this little critter, making him stand out more. I like the angle of this shot quite a bit--gets us down on his level.

Interesting composition, but my eye doesn't feel like it has anything with detail to focus on. The lighting looks good and I like the suggestion of colors in the background.

The detail on the flower is very clear and the color is lovely. I find the blurred portrait in the background a little distracting because it overshadows the smaller subject. Perhaps if more of the flower were shown, or from a different angle, the background wouldn't be so overpowering. I like the idea though, and it was nice to see something new in this challenge!

Creative choice of subject! Composition is ok. Lighting is perhaps a bit of an issue, as we're getting a glare at the top left. Detail on the photo could be just a little more crisp.

Very nice colors on this shot. It almost appears as some kind of artistic filter has been used on this photo, which loses some of the detail. Good composition and subject choice.

Interesting use of the "negative" effect. Go ahead and make your picture size as large as DPC will allow. This will let voters/commenters see the detail of your photo and appreciate it for it's full value.

Thank you for an intersting macro! Definitely haven't seen any others like this in the challenge yet :-) And, while I might not hang it on my wall, it's one of my favorites this time around. Amazing detail and clarity. The B&W really works well for this shot.
