| Congrats on your top 15. I gave you an 8 and only one 8 this challenge. Only one 9 and only one 10. Your details are spot on, as are your tones and light. The hot spot on the tongue is the only neg or nit pic I can see. Other than that, an AWESOME shot. Cheers....Martin |

well, i can say with confidence that this photo is a one-of-a-kind for this challenge.
i love the tones and the contrast. though the highlights are a bit blown in certain areas, it doesn't subtract from the image in my opinion.

| I'm not even sure why I love this the way I do. I think it's the assumption of what the whole face looks like. Certainly, fantasic clarity of detail, love the duo tone with this image. I keep coming back to image -- the thumbnail doesn't convince me of a 9, but every time I come back to see it I think - "Oh, yeah. This is a great one!" |

That's bound to be a favorite! Great expression on its face (or so we imagine), the position of the mouth led me to look back and forth around the image. Great sharpness and amazing contrast!

| This is just FINE. What a marvellous, quirky and utterly wonderful subject matter and the unusual choice of cropping, to exclude the eyes, works unexpectedly well. Black and white perfect to focus attention of textures and details. 10! PS If I were being nitpicky I'd point out the blow out where details in the whitest white areas have been lost - teeth and top right area of frame. But I don't care, I love it anway! |

I sincerely hope this shot does extremely well, although it's not technically a macro, it's an extreme close-up and the originality (not to mention interesting nature) of the subject appeal to me. Small gripe about the hotspots on the teeth but that's a very minor detraction.
A 9 from me and good luck!
