"Rocky"by sfarrell23Comment: Orangutans are such fun creatures! (Almost too human too - I hate to see them caged, but that's another story!) :-)
Nice shot - maybe a little oversharpened and I'd like to see a little more of the guy (crop is a little tight), but good expression. Not crazy about the border either, but it's hard to go wrong when shooting these guys. |

Polar Bearby GatorguyComment: Good DOF and color. You pushed the envelope with the lighting/highlights so that they're just on the edge of being blown out, but I think you pulled it off. Nice detail and composition too. |

Koala Bearby StagoleeComment: What a cutie! Wish the lighting didn't wash out the color quite as much, but you've got good DOF and nice composition. |

East African Crowned Craneby alien2thisworldComment: I almost entered a shot of this guy's cousins (African Black Crowned Cranes). You've got good DOF in the shot, but you lose a lot of detail in the blown out highlights. Also, I think you could crop it closer to bring out more definition in the bird and bump up the washed out colors. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty good shot... |

The Landingby sheapodComment: Beautiful shot. Really like the wings & motion. Nice color tones too. The eye looks like it's been PSed pretty hardily though. Perhaps it's me and the eye is naturally that red, but I don't remember spoonbills having eyes quite that vivid. Still, a nice shot. |

Give Us A Kissby MinutiaComment: Nice expression and interesting composition, but the whites are all blown out. Might try turning down the backlighting and adjusting contrast, etc. to reduce the glare. Otherwise nice shot. |

Baby in distressby NunoComment: Great DOF on the adult, but it seems to suffer on the chick. Also the lighting is too bright IMHO, causing a significant loss of detail. (Probably mid-day sun, which is the most unforgiving.) Cute shot nonetheless. |

Flirt with Me!by jseyerleComment: What a coy looking expression with the slanted eye. Very nice capture. Love the pose, but think that the lighting is a little bit harsh. Like the background and I think it's exceptionally well composed. Nice job. |

Don't forget the little guy!by pidgeComment: Nice shot grasshopper! I would like to see him a little more close-up though. Most of the detail is lost because he's so small. However, I do really like the greens and the water droplets too. (I'm sure these little guys are all over most zoos!) Nice shot. |
