Deb I like the cropped version better. It accentuates the lines which I assume are to draw the eye to the person walking away.

I think that we (or at least I am) are programmed to want all of our pictures smooth and continuous. However, this photo really works well with the noise. It has not only that early morning, foggy feel but the grain adds a texture that well... works.

Great sky and horizon. I get a bit lost in everything below the horizon. Maybe some dodge and burn to add highlights and shadows.

Night Rider

Comment:
First impression is evening, gray building. That light is quite bright and fights for my attention although it (my attention) can rest easily on the rider since he is in focus. On closer inspection this is quite a good capture. You have him captured after the window and before the tree. He is in focus under a low light situation.

This is hilarious Jon. I can see the headlines now...
After two years and more than two dozen brutal slayings, today in a quiet suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of Milton Keynes Cap'n Crunch was arrested as the alleged cereal killer.

I think "the eyes have it" in this photo. The more frontal shot and larger eyes really work well. Compared the your Freestudy shot this one shows a more open expression, which I find more inviting. I think the sepia tone works well with her hair, lips and eyes. It does have a funky effect on her skin though.

What a nice tranquil feeling this photo imparts. The water is so calm and the fog is engulfing the boats that dot the horizon, which would be completely lost without them there.
