Interesting and unique take on the challenge. Definately rusted, and definately not boring. I think that you did a fine job of being creative here. I like the placement of the guy with the pressure washer. He is in the photo, yet out of the way enough to also let us focus on the rust too. Focus and clarity are good. Really nice detail on both the guy and the wall/fence thingy. I like the way the water mists like that. Lighting looks like it was on your side this day. Overall a nice photo of rust. ~Heather~

I really wish this photo were a bit larger. The rules state that your photo can actually be up to 640x640. I would take advantage of that size availability because I really can't see anything in this tiny little photo. Is there even rust in it?? I really can't see any rust. As for the photo itself, the angle is interesting. I like the diagonals. The man in the bottom left is too dark, and I can't really tell how the focus is from the small size of the image. Sorry. ~Heather~

I guess that the rust doesn't just jump out and grab me here. Is the dark car in the front rusted? Or is it just dark. Is the darkness rust? Or is that the color is should be? I like how you are looking through the older looking car, towards the fresh painted beauties. The color in the background near the upper right corner of the photo seems a bit muted, or blah. Probably due to bright lighting conditions in that direction. Definately a different take on the challenge. ~Heather~

Yup, it's rust. The texture is interesting, and I think that the cracks in the thing are neat. The color stands out nicely. DOF is good for this shot, and your focus on the subject really helps to bring out detail and texture. Lighting looks to have been on your side this day. Maybe it's just this whole 'rust' topic, but it does lack excitement. Still technically well done though. ~Heather~

Well, it's rust. A little more interesting that just plain rust due to the leaf that is stuck in it. The color is well...rusty, and I think that the lighting brings that out nicely. Placement of the subject is dead center. I'm wondering if there may be some more interesting place to put it. To the side of the photo, or maybe a dramatic angle, to make this really punch. Focus and clarity are alright. ~Heather~

Wow. Very nice. I was hoping to see a sepia or black and white in the challenge. And you have mastered it. Beautiful. I hope to see this in the top when voting is over. Lovely composition. I love how you have placed your subjects within the photo. The sheep is just out of the way of the rusty thing, but still in the photo, which makes your rusty thing look really cool. Focus and clarity are amazing, and lighting appears to have been on your side this day. I love the crop. This would make a beautiful pring. Excellent job. 10 ~Heather~

It's too bad that this image isn't larger. I like the colors in the background. The shadows are a bit distracting. I can see that the chains are rusty, but I can't really see them well. From the rules, it says "Dimension: No dimension may be shorter than 160 pixels or longer than 640 pixels." So you could enter a photo that was 640x640 if you wanted to. You should use the size to your advantage. (sorry if you've heard this 10 times already) ~Heather~

Your sky is white and boring. Doesn't look like the weather conditions were ideal for taking a shot like this. I would love to see a blue sky behind this. Your subject definately contains rust, and focus is alright. The crop seems a bit odd to me. I notice that this is not the entire tower, and the way it's cut off at the top is a bit distracting. I like the addition of the grass at the bottom. ~Heather~

I like it! It's a rusty nail, and the wood even has a rust color too. The texture is really nice here. Focus and clarity bring out the details very nicely. I think that this is a perfect shot for this challenge. Lighting is good as well. I like where you have placed the nail within the photo and there is nothing that I can find distracting. Overall very nice shot. ~Heather~

I'm really gonna have to say that I don't see the rust in this image that was submitted to the Rust Challenge. I may be overlooking something, but I'm pretty sure I studied this well. It's a nice photo of a notebook, and I think it would do well in a notebook challenge. The focus and clarity are good, and the angle is very interesting. But as a photo of rust, it is not so good. ~Heather~
