| the position of the nail bothers me in this finely shot piece....I do not like the horizontal composition and wish you had chosen some sort of angle with the nail inset a bit further from the end. The texctures and colors are great as is the detail. |

Very nice. I like the unique posiitoning of the object of interest and the wood is very nicely lit and captured. These are very pleasing colors in the rust. I kind of wish that this was even more a closeup of the nail head even though the picture would need retitling.

| I like it! It's a rusty nail, and the wood even has a rust color too. The texture is really nice here. Focus and clarity bring out the details very nicely. I think that this is a perfect shot for this challenge. Lighting is good as well. I like where you have placed the nail within the photo and there is nothing that I can find distracting. Overall very nice shot. ~Heather~ |

| I really like how you placed the nail, although if it was more rusted it would have made the nail stand out more, right now the wood seems to be the subject. |

| Wonderful textures and exposure! I'd like to see the nail not so dead-centered vertically. It would also add impact if the horizontal lines were more diagonally oriented. Overall - a very strong entry. |
