I personally never got to see the show, but I was aware of it. I am from Michigan and Tom Wopat frequently comes back to perform in our theater and I got the pleasure to see him perform in Equus at the Barn theatre. Great photo and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/29/2002 01:03:00 PM | Gumballsby malapropamComment: The color of this looks odd probably because it's being shot through the gumball machine's glass. I love this idea. It definately depicts childhood very well. I like how you got most f the word gumball in the photo too. Nice touch. There is a glare on the left side and in the top right. Hard to avoid when shooting through glass/plastic though. You did a nice job. Good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/27/2002 01:13:00 PM | Pepito's Childhood Scarsby chakkobboComment: Very loved little dog. This made me smile. The lighting, angle and frame filling is great. Definately a centimental photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/26/2002 07:01:00 PM | A Childish Fear of the Darkby MelGrahmComment: I really like this photo. It is more often than not that a really horrible memory takes presidence over even the best of memories. It's traumatic and often really hard to forget. This is a really dark photo, and under normal circumstances, I don't normally like overly dark or overly bright photos, but it works ver nicely here. The angle and focus are great also for this photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 09/01/2002 01:31:00 PM | Look Ma', It's Flying!by lmhrComment: Childhood is all about being proud of something you made or did. Great depiction of that. The sky is beautiful for this photo and kite is very colorful. The angle is great. I like how the entire kite is in the photo including the tails. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/26/2002 07:24:00 PM | Young Life Cut Shortby normwComment: Having recently just lost a young child, not mine, but very close to me, this photo is hard for me to appreciate, however there are some pretty good technical aspects in my mind. The lighting and angle are good, and the background fits the photo. Just to the right of the photo, there is something white, and it's hard to tell what it is, but it might be flowers?? would either be better to include it all the way, or leave it out. (if possible).Sorry about the personal preference at this time, not your fault, just bad timing of sorts. Good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/27/2002 04:09:00 PM | Girls Only !by ShiiizzzamComment: I liked this photo very much. Looks like it's been there awhile. The colors on the door are great, and the angle is perfect for "from a childs eyes" . The lighting was perfect for this shot. Was there some post editing to get the color on the left side of the door that way? Either way, it is very nice. Good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/29/2002 02:50:00 PM | 30 min after my Niece came to visit...by waltomlComment: Great depiction of childhood. Playtime. The angle is good and the lighting is great. no strange glares, bright spots, or shadows. I like how it's not really a set up shot of childhood, rather a candid one, but I don't know how many people will go for that. They don't seem to go for candid on this site. I am scared at how the "candid" challenge is going to go. lol Great shot and good luck in the challenge. |
| 09/01/2002 11:27:00 PM | Kitchen Fridge aka Kid's Art Easelby BigSmilesComment: I see a child in the photo! Oh well...the challenge didn't state if there could be photos of children in the photo, so I'll let it slide. :) Definately depict childhood. And parenthood for that matter. Nice focus and lighting. good luck in the challenge. |
| 08/27/2002 07:49:00 PM | Saturday Morningby MarkRobComment: I had this idea, but was't sure how to pull it off. You did a great job. The lighting is good, and the obvious problems with photographing a TV are aparent, but most likely unavoidable. The angle is great and I like how it fills the frame. There are only 2 things I would like to see differently. Milk and spoon, for one. The second, I'm not sure if it could be fixed or not. The bottom of the TV and top edge of the table are level with the edge of the photo, however, the glass and the bowl are tilted to the right slightly. You did this very nicely. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |
