Very nice use of DOF. I like the crisp focus foreground, and the soft focus background. The angle and framing/cropping are good, and the setup is very nice. Add some salt, and my good friend Jose and we've got a masterpiece. lol This is a very nice still life. The water adds just that small bit of extra touch that makes this special. Great shot, good luck in the challenge.

Love this photo! I really like the darkness portrayed in the shot. The angle and framing/cropping are great too...oh...HAHA. It's my shot! (just being silly and seeing if this "comment on your own photo" thing works.

way better than I could ever do, but it just doesn't look right some how. kind of speckled. maybe it was the post processing? Not really sure about the greenness either. I supose its ok, cause it's different. Not what one would expect. Being in the center is ok, I wonder how it would look in the bottom right corner though. something to try at least, to see how it affects the shot. Good luck in the challenge.

I simply love it. Colors, focus, clarity, angle and framing/cropping. Everything. You've done a great job with this. I guess I do have one tiny nit pick, which is probably difficult to avoid, but the reflection of the water "tower" in the bottom center of the photo is a little out of place there. Not distracting, but odd. possibley cloned out outside of the challenge? I could look at this shot for a very long time. Good luck in the challenge.

In the blue challenge, I learned that photographing flame was way harder than it looks. lol. You have done a nice job here. I like how you have the wood in focus and the flame shows movement. You haven't frozen the flames, and I like that. I wonder if it possible to get the background a bit more black without affecting the flames. You might lose some detail in the logs that way though. Something to at least try anyway. A nice shot. Good luck in the challenge.

I really like how you have used DOF to your advantage here. Having the icey sticks in the background, with the close up in the foreground really makes this a nice shot. I also like the color in the shot, and the focus and detail are also well done. I like the sqare-ish crop too. Nice job. good luck in the challenge.

I am thinking that that's frosted glass, but it has a soft focus look to it. when I was photographing some frosted glass chess pieces, they turned out looking out of focus, and I wonder if that's what happened here. Not that is actually IS out of focus, but it only looks that way. Cause the feather looks just fine focus wise, and so does the mouth of the bottle. It's an interesting still life. I can never seen to get lighting right in still lifes. Your lighting is very nice. Background isn't distracting at all. nice color as well. Good luck in the challenge.

Interesting looking flowers! I love the use of black and white here. Combined with the awesome focus, it really lets us concentrate on the detail here. I also like very much the petal-less stems in the back behind the flowers. They really add to the pattern of the overall shot. background is appropriate. Nothing distracting at all. lighting is great too. a nice dark background helps the white flowers to stand out wonderfully. I will say again that the focus is great. Good luck in the challenge.

Very nice portrait. The soft focus with the soft lighting is a great combination with this beautiful lady. My only nit pick about this is that I wish she were not putting so much pressure on her hand with her head. It pulls her eye brow at an angle that almost makes her look angry. If she had her hand up there, but wasn't supporting her head with her hand, then her eyebrow would lay in a natural position. Otherwise, I really like this shot. Great work. Good luck in the challenge.

What very interesting patterns. Has just enough color to make it interesting as well. I love the placement of the main focal point. Our eyes are drawn there very nicely. Treat to not have it centered. Focus and clarity are good. It's hard to tell exactly how big this is. Looks really really big to me, but the perspective is that which could be taken wrong. almost looks like windows up there at the top. anyway, a very interesting find. good luck in the challenge.
