This is the sword of light and the sword of Darkness. Vaelen is the technical name. The swords match those in the poster. I got these swords at the Silver Leaf Ren faire in Galesburg MI. The darkness is intentional, as it is meant to be an evil confrontation. Enjoy!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Heather, this is an excellent photo. Like I said in my original comment, I could see this on a game box or on a CD cover for sure :) I think the composition of the swords on the artwork background is excellent. Unfortunately, I can't really make any suggestions for improvement on this photo since I really like it the way it is. I read through your comments and I don't really understand where most of them are coming from. I couldn't think of a better way to light the swords or change anything about the composition. I suppose the 'artwork' factor may be at play, but it's an integral part of this image for sure...

Keep up the good work :)

This is a great shot but the reflections on the sword hilts could have been avoided by changing the angle of the lights.

This piece of art is constituing too much of the composition of this photograph, at least IMO - Inspzil

It's not "my thing", but I like the placement of the knives so as not to block important parts of the art.

?? Seems like I remember an admin note on this one ?? Wow, did this come as a set? The swords and the drawing seem to be the same! Well taken all the way around. 8 Swash

I DON'T LIKE THE PHOTO MUCH...JUST A PICTURE OF SOME ARTWORK

Hmmm... nice lighting, and interesting composition. Fantasy genre stuff isn't my thing, but I appreciate that you have achieved something interesting here.

Although this is technically a nice picture, the amount of activity going on in it is a bit distracting. The layout of the knives is good, but your highlights on them are a bit blown out. I was going to ask why you have both on there, and then I realized these are the swords the characters in the print are using.

Its clever how you have created the effect here, you have balanced the composition well and the lighting is pretty even across the picture and the objects in the foreground.

hi. neat swords. w hat is the story behind them?

It is really amazing how all of these things are interacting with each other. It's tough to tell when the real world begins and ends, and I think that's largely because of the great lighting you've used. Very nice job.

A bit too busy for my tastes. Good focus on the knives and certainly an interesting concept. DPz

Nice lighting, besides that this is just not my cup of tea, sorry.

I really like the detail on the weapons, but the art in the background makes it less appealing to me.

Love this photo! I really like the darkness portrayed in the shot. The angle and framing/cropping are great too...oh...HAHA. It's my shot! (just being silly and seeing if this "comment on your own photo" thing works.

I can't say that the subject matter does much for me, but the shot itself is ok. =7

Looks like the kit rae ads. Nicely replicated. Maybe a bit grainy though. overall not bad.

I like the set up in this shot with those swords. However I think it would have been more effective with the light in a different position.
