It's quite hard to add any more insight into this picture as your comments have been very detailed and in my opinion, helpful. I think that your idea is great and I like the use of the water and reflection. The picture has a great sharpness to it. My previous comment was that i would like to see more of the lemon in the background, either through deeper DOF or through changing the composition and switching the two lemons. A bit more light in the background would also have been good to bring out a bit more detail and possibly a little less on the lemon in front. You have had lots of "makes my mouth water" comments, so I think if you could possibly change the DOF issue, then this would be a great picture! Good Luck in the next challenge!

Ive learned from the Fruits and Vegetables challenge that if your going to use fruit you have to make sure you pick the best ones. These have a lot of black spots on them. The shadows cast across the back ones are a little dark and I think for this shot having all three of the lemons in focus would have helped.

Cute title. The image has good coloring, but I am distracted by the stem and dark spots on the edge of the uncut lemon. Glad you left some seeds at the bottom. This image makes my mouth water!

The composition of this is pretty good, although the colours seem a little bit washed out. I like the DOF you used, bringing the eye right to the stem area of that front lemon. Thematically, though, it's a bit dull.

Not sure that I like the use of DOF here, cause I think that the lemon at the back is more interesting than the lemon at the front and so want to see more of that one! Thats just me though!

Nice fruit. Kinda lacks an interest/wow factor for me. 7 Swash

Beatiful colors, and I'm so glad you put in the droplets and the seeds for extra interest. Although I often like a shallow DOF, I think this picture may have been better with a wide one. Just personal preference though. Nice job though, and good luck! - 7

I personally would've put the other 2 lemons further back so that the shallow DOF would be a little more understood. They seem pretty close to be out of focus to that degree. The lemon in front though is remarkably sharp. - Inspzil

Generally I'd prefer more dof to include the other lemon. The highlights on the front lemon are harsh making them blown out and the dark spots on the lemon aren't appealing. I do like the color saturation, and the water droplets on the surface of the plate. The composition is very nice too.

Good composition. The lighting may be a little harsh. I know you probably went with the tight DOF to capture the foreground lemon the most, but I feel that if all the lemons were in the same DOF it would make for a stronger shot.

very nice composition... I also appreciate the shallow depth of field on this shot. however, i would have possibly made a minor rearrangemente here :) I would have swapped the whole lemon and the cut piece in the center to bring out some more detail of the 'section'. Those pieces that are out of the dof in the background are attracting my attention because of the 'detail'... good work :) - setzler

Really great composition and bright, vivid colors. This is one of those shots I'd consider for my new 'kitchen' collection.

The composition of this photo is good, but the lighting doesn't help highlight the water droplets on the lemon skins, and the crop & angle means that a potentially interesting reflection off the surfacetop has been lost. I'd also suggest using a second light from the righthand side, to help bring some warmth to the colours.

I really like this but wish the slices had been in focus. Almost makes my mouth water, and had the slices been sharp, I'd be drooling. Just a thought and my personal opinion, though.

the light seems to be too bright

A nice, simple composition, good use of DOF, a bit too much light on the front lemon though. The whole image, while technically good, is not very interesting to me personally, nevertheless a very good job. Congrats!

Very nice use of DOF. I like the crisp focus foreground, and the soft focus background. The angle and framing/cropping are good, and the setup is very nice. Add some salt, and my good friend Jose and we've got a masterpiece. lol This is a very nice still life. The water adds just that small bit of extra touch that makes this special. Great shot, good luck in the challenge.

good shot. I like the DOF used in this. Great background.

I think the sliced lemon would have made a more interesting object to have in the front. I like the seeds that have come out, but they almost get lost in the shadows. There is nice detail here and good focus - I like that the back lemon is slightly blured. Good composition. = 7

Nice use of DOF. I like the seeds on the surface they add to the picture nicely. My only complaint is the dark spots on the front lemon. they're not so noticable on the back ones but they take away from the picture on the lemon in the foreground. Also the glare from the light on the front lemon is a bit distracting. Overall not bad.

i think it would be better with the cut lemons also in focus. good background and reflection on the bottom.

I like this shot of the lemons... it has a nice shape to the composition. I find the seed somwhat distracting, though. Smellyfish1002
