The Edge Of The Worldby DiscraftComment: Good shot, the composition, pose, exposure and tone are all right on. I just wish there was something to fill that space on the right, like a boat. It would add some extra depth and scale. This warm tone works very good, it seems to reflect the conditions at the scene. |

harmonyby instepsComment: The way the color works here is strange. The fruits look rotten. |

3 amby grigrigirlComment: Very interesting and confusing angle. Is this a stretched-arm selfportrait?

Constrainedby jbeazellComment: Interesting, but the contrast is a bit low and the light/tone a bit flat.
Nice window on the world though. |

Samoan Fire Knife Danceby BooZonComment: Interesting capture.
I think that a little bit of powered down fill-flash might have worked even better than just the light from the torches.

Portrait of Majestyby CantiqueComment: Is it snowing at this (capture) moment?
Interesting composition, I like it how the bird stands out from the dark and soft but still textured (in relation to the environment of the bird) background. |

Esterby DufusComment: The huge lump of body below the face looks a bit strange. Is it her shoulder or her knee? Especially since it has a distinctive darker skintone as her face. It makes the whole composition look a bit strange.
I like the light on her face, the power of and the light in her eyes. |

Candlelight Demonstrationby JoviComment: Amazing how this photo 'works'. Somehow it is very active, like it is alive and all the motion seems to be directed to the one person who is perfectly in focus. I love it how you captured his expression in this sea of people. He is the one standing out of the crowd and you caught it. The shallow DOF and wide view works so well. Great shot. |

Cinderellaby SonifoComment: For two weeks I have been returning to this photograph. I like portraits but didn't give this higher than a 7. Why, I wondered, because those eyes and her face come out splendid, the crown in the hair and the necklace gives the idea that it is a special occasion and the lying in a landscape composition is a good idea as well.
I think my 'problem' is the arm under her head leading out of the frame to the right. It looks strange, out of place and it is lit in a similar way as the upside of the face (low fill-light?) and therefore draws attention it doesn't deserve. |
