Very unusual composition. Well seen. A very slight perspective shift or CCW rotation would get the bricks aligned horizontally, but that's a minor thing, and took nothing away because of it. ((7))

Good idea worked out well -- good choice in timing light and weather of the background subject.

Now this is really nice. It almost doesn't look real. Great job! This should do very well. I especially love the mountains, they're so beautiful.

I actually saw a similar shot of this but at a different angle on a other website. They had some sky over the brick wall which I think added to the image showing it was real, but I like the portrait feel to this.

This looks like it has a slight tilt to me. Other than that- I love the idea. Very creative. The brick is an excellent canvas for the second shot. Might warrent a bit more sharpening. One of my favorites this challenge.

Interesting, but the contrast is a bit low and the light/tone a bit flat.
Nice window on the world though.

Beautiful piece here... looks surreal! The horizontals may have been aligned better, but this shot is definitely worthy of a high score.

This may well be best of show. Very nice landscape framed improbably by the brick wall and window. Creative. The white line on the top of the window ledge is a bit distracting and prevents me from bumping to a 10. I hope it's real.

In as much that this is a picture of a picture it could be done better with a little contrast.

Very unique photo. Sort of an illusion of sorts. You don't really expect to see a brick wall near this site. I'm curious where this was taken. I'll check back after the challenge to see. I like this. Good luck!

An interesting shot with the framing technique. Beautiful landscape in thebackground. Clever idea.

The brick frame takes too much attension from the picture.

The classically staggering, yet bleak landscape, with it's extraordinary frame of the most humdrum brick, yet coupled with a strange sense of perspecive distortion to hwta we know should be a flat wall makes this image throw away presumptions on three levels. Yet somwhow it fails to move me particularly. I wonder if that odd sense of distortion on the wall, doesn't actually work against the simple weirdness of the scene itself, and draw the mind away from that very simple contrast and it's effect.

The framing is off, I am guessing you weren't standing square to the window. Neat concept.

nice abstractish artwork. One that makes you look for more than a few seconds.

Clever framing, but seems a little underexposed.

This creates a great illusion. There is just enough contrast in the bricks to realize this is the view through the opening in the wall.

Wow, took me a while to determine whether that is a window or a painting on a wall - that speaks volumes about your composition. Exposure is perfect. 9 for this lovely, simplistic approach to landscape photography. Shame you didn't have it for the framing challenge. Would have cleaned up in theat challenge.

Cool frame! It is hard to determine if this is a photo on a wall, or looking through a window. The question keeps you guessing. I like this one! 8

Remarkably well-seen image. The figure/ground dichotomy is gorgeous; is it a billboard or is it a hole in the wall? Close examinations ays the latter, but the reality of it keeps popping back and forth...

its at a bit of an angel, but i suppose that gives you the edge of the wall to the left, reassuring the viewer that it is not a painting...great shot BTW
