Quite frankly, the first thought that came to mind when I saw this image is "Cook" or "Maid". I think it's the apron and the upright (prim) sitting position. Peeling potatos in our household is much messier than this and usually done at the sink. :D

All that aside, the image is well done with a nice range of tones. I'd have been tempted to square crop this or move the subject to center as it's nearly centered now.

It's an interesting image, but how does it portray/show the "essence" of the person? It may say more about the person on this side of the glass? Sorry, not trying to be fresh, just trying to figure out what story you're trying to tell with this photo. Good luck in the challenge.

Meant to comment on this during the challenge, somehow didn't get back to it. Just wanted to say I LOVE the expression and essence of this cat you've captured here. The background works very well and the eyes are perfect! Technicals all handled adeptly. Great job and an image to be proud of.

Ahhh, the frosty glass. :D Making me thirsty! I like the way the light works in this image with the glow coming across the coins on the table. Nice job on composing this. Many would be tempted to include all of the money on the table but I think it works better as you've done it. Good choice of aperture to slightly blur out the background. Best of luck to you in the challenge.
