The Lookby gciboComment: This is cute. For me personally, it feels uncomfortably close - like you could have backed up a little. The focus overall is a bit soft, and it seems underexposed some. All JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Dewyby IvoComment: This photo has a lot of character. It's fun seeing some profiles that are 'Environmental' type shots. Only minor complaint from me is the range (B/W) seems a little short on the black end. Nothing major, mostly an observation. Good luck in the challenge. |

Olivia - Portrait of an Artistby faeryComment: This looks like a photo that you would see in a magazine as part of an interview. I like the way you caught the "person". Fresh, and unique in this challenge. Nicely done. |

Daytonby brownsmComment: Nice capture of general youthful happiness. Looks like you hit just the right focal point as his eyes and mouth are well focused, the nose is just a bit soft. Good lighting and blurring out of the background. Overall, well done. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

peaceby briantammyComment: This is unique in both the pose and the clothing approach. I'm also kind of liking the one eye obscured by her hair. Interesting. Well done overall. |

Winter Solitudeby dolphgalComment: First, I'm sure you've heard this a dozen times already, but it bears repeating...use the maximum 640 on the long side. You lose impact and details with a smaller size. On the positive end I guess, you get lots of comments. :D As a photo I really like what you've done in post-processing this. Great tonal range for a B/W - you've covered the range completely without blowing it out or losing details in the shadows. The focus on her face has a soft quality to it in a good way. Overall, nicely done. Just show it off a bit more. :) Good luck in the challenge. |
