After Challenge: I was in a kind of funny mood that day...I thought it would be good to create a more traditional frame from the sticks. This, of course, meant that I was not creating a challenge in the most traditional sense of the term, Framing. Therefore, I added tilt to enhance the photo with a bit more please-ability for the eyes. The dirty aspect of the duracotta pot was a negative that I attempted to minimize by increasing contrast while decreasing brightness. (This was not easy, but when I saw that it focused the eyes on the flower, I chose to stay with it even though it was not one of my best entries in a challenge.)

SOL & Time, but it ended up being an okay photo, and a good learning experience. :)

Hmmm, I'm surprised at your score too (I am fairly new however). I wonder if the sub 5 crowd saw the darkness, figured it was simple to throw together, and didn't stop to let their eyes linger.

I wavered 6-7 and went 7 ultimately. I found the overall composition of this shot captivating and I'm impressed at the affect you generated with such simple ingredients. Keep up the good work and don't feel bad that this shot doesn't fit the "soundbyte" rating system this time.

Ok, so maybe the exposure could have been brought up a little, but sub 5 score? I thought this was clever, and so it seems did the commenters overall. Hmmm.

I like how you've put this together. The earth tones are right on the money for the subject, and the tilt sets up the composition in a way that is pleasing to the eye. Creative and well done! Good luck in the challenge.
