Nice photo except for the characters. It's not real, it's a blatantly stupid attempt to make it seem Japanese and I consider it as somewhat racist. If you're going to do it right, use a real character and one that actually means something, instead of just plugging in some squigly lines and thinking that it meant something. Only people you can fool are people as ignorant as you are.

It's also an insult to Buddhists everywhere. This is not zen.

Yeah the 70-200mm is good but the magnification factor is only 0.25x or something. It's good for one purpose: bringing objects closer, but compared with a 100mm macro lens, there is no comparison on magnification because you can go a lot closer than the zoom.... And i am less than 1 meter away when i shot this -- the 70-200mm lens i believe require 1.3 meters to focus.... so that wasn't option either. I'll post the shot later -- you'd be surprised just how un-macro this shot is!

Yes Journey, i have become more of a whore lately :)

(Channel mixer, just make sure ALL colors adds to 100%... so you can increase RED in red channel by say, 140%, but make sure to subject -20%/-20% on the other colors)

Thanks Journey. I think you'd be surprised that this is a crop -- yes, i am whoring in this challenge :) and a VERY tight crop indeed, almost no resizing needed, seriously.

I did several crops of this scene and use this the best, then just add a bit of saturation (Channel Mixer to minimize noises -- if you use saturation button in PS it adds a lot more noises). That's why the edges of the stem is sort of blurry because i am losing resolution big time.

It was shot with a 50 mm lens too.... just cropped. The original photo had the bee as the focus @ F2.5 so i know most of the flowers will be OOF outside the plane, hand held, was going to do a FLORA photo and turned it to a Fauna challenge.

Too bad this will not be able to be "printed" as it is a very very very small crop of the original photo and doens't have enough resolution. It's funny how a lot of people "believed" it's a macro when it's really just a large photo cropped down tightly.

Oh yeah, i do have that 70-200 mm L lens :) but it's not suitable for macros. Probably could've used it to get closer than what the original photo was... but it's not a macro lens -- they both have the 100 mm macro.
