the last drop of water by TrollManComment: Originally posted by gyaban: I have to say I disagree with all the comments saying it's the victory of "photography" against "digital art", or whatever people call things. Editing is a tool, just a tool. It can be indispensable, or close to useless, depending on the creation and what is needed to achieve it. Your idea just worked outstandingly that way, and it also appeared to be the best of the challenge, so you won, that's basically it :-)
Congratulations again! |
I agree, Christophe. My point was against people who have claimed that basic photography does not stand a fair chance against advanced digital editing techniques. My point is that it is MUCH more about the idea and the execution, regardless of how you get there.
Congrats again to both of you! |

Run, Forest Baby, Run!by hahn23Comment: Oh for pete's sake, Richard - the score had WAYYY more to do with the fact that there are MANY photos of deer/elk/wildlife on DPC and nearly nothing to do with the editing. Look at the blue ribbon winner. Just because you think it meets the challenge doesn't mean everyanyone else does. ..."period".
eta: I forgot to end on a positive note: It is a really great photo of a newborn elk, I'll give you that. :) Message edited by author 2011-06-10 01:21:50. |
