Cathode Under Glassby QuadrajetComment: Wow - great dof, and very impactful color. I can't put my finger on it, but the composition is "off" for me. Just too static I think. 8 |

Spring is Comingby hughletherenComment: The purple color is wonderful! I think this shot could have really had immense impact for me with a more dynamic angle on the flowers. Don't get me wrong - this is very nice, and I do like it, but it's just missing something! It needs a 3rd flower, or to be shot from a slightly higher angle, or SOMETHING! It just needs that little something "extra" to take it to the level of a 10 for me. Sorry I can't seem to explain myself any better tonight! 9 |

Lighting me upby dinnComment: Quite lovely shot of this creature. I like the shadows in the background, but the blown out highlight really draws my eye away from the subject, thereby minimizing the impact of the beauty of the butterfly (or moth?). |

All Lined Upby TerryGeeComment: Terrific shot! There is really nothing here that I would "pick on" - I like the shot a lot, the composition works beautifully, but it lacks that "something" unexpected, unusual, or impactful that would take it to a "10". 9 |

The Bathby soupComment: You'll probably catch hell from the cat-haters, but hey, who cares! Love the shot, in fact one of my favorite kitty shots! Although there is use of shallow DOF, for me, this would fall more into the category of negative space. I really like the composition and the resulting neg spc, it gives it a lot of impact. 9 |

A delicate dropby ScantyNebulaComment: The colors in this shot make it rather breathtaking! The droplet looks like mercury, or something similarly shiny. I don't care for the dead center composition, and would prefer to see the white on the right side cropped out, but nevertheless - 9 |

Lonelyby loboz33Comment: This style looks familiar, so can hardly wait to see whose shot this is. I love the shot. I'm not entirely crazy about the border - it seems to draw my eyes away from the photo, and that's a sorry shame, 'cause the photo is a thing of beauty. 10 |

Cup & Saucerby PaulMdxComment: Because this shot is so perfect from the standpoint of lighting, color, focus, I am rating it fairly high. However, for me, the composition is definitely lacking. With this subject, there are just so many ways to have a dynamic, interesting and unexpected composition that this plain, dead center, head on composition leaves me disappointed. |
