 100mm macro, lying flat on the ground, one of many taken in search of this challenge. Sun kept going in and out - in this one it was out - pity really. Like the simplicity and colouring.
Developed using Capture One DSLR 1.3 Rebel, levels, cropped, sharpened.

The purple color is wonderful! I think this shot could have really had immense impact for me with a more dynamic angle on the flowers. Don't get me wrong - this is very nice, and I do like it, but it's just missing something! It needs a 3rd flower, or to be shot from a slightly higher angle, or SOMETHING! It just needs that little something "extra" to take it to the level of a 10 for me. Sorry I can't seem to explain myself any better tonight! 9

I think this would have looked better if there was more negative space above the flowers and maybe even some to the left or right. As it is now, composition is too centered, in my opinion. The flowers have nice tonal balance and details, however.

Does 2 work? In this case yes. The details are picked up nicely in the petals. Must have been an overcast day for having such perfect lighting. Good shot! 8 -danny

Beautiful hues of purple in the flower.The green of the grass really contrasts well with the color of the flower. The depth of field is incredible. "9"

This is gorgeous, regardless of what others may say I never get tired of the beautiful floral shots, and this is executed wonderfully, I love the colors and the detail, wonderfully smooth edges and the clarity is great

So you're getting these already? Lucky you! This is a doubly terrific shot! DOF works so well to isolate the blooms AND to imply further blooms out elsewhere--so you've shown that it is a good tool to take the mind beyond the photo. 10

What a hopeful sign. I'm looking daily around here, but nothing yet. :) Your colors are a little light, but I think it works. I'd like to see 1/4 inch off the bottom with a bit more contrast. It's a good entry.

Beautiful shot - amazing sharpness. I'd like to see other plays on the composition, perhaps. The flowers seem a little more centered than desirable, though perhaps since they are different heights, that makes a difference. A lovely shot, either way, worthy of being on a postcard or some such.
