V-e-r-y nice shot. Actually one of my favorites in the challenge. The lighting is excellent, lending an entirely different feel to this shot than all of the other "cat" photos. The look on this cat's face is stunning, it's hard to stop looking at his(her?) eyes. I'm guessing this isn't a truly "natural" habitat shot, nevertheless, a phenomenal shot. I'd be very proud of this were it me!

I like the color (duotone?), but the "glow" behind the giraffe feels kind of "weird" to me, and it feels like this long neck and head are kind of just floating in the air. I would really like to have seen some point of reference, like maybe a tree, or maybe another giraffe.

Beautiful! If you got this shot in his "natural" environment, I want to know where your stalking grounds are! Can't get "our" eagles to be still for a moment. Wonderful lighting and composition.

This looks like "zoo" habitat, not "natural" habitat, nevertheless, I like it a lot. What amazing animals they are, and they provided you with a composition that is very pleasing to the eye.

Beautiful colors, good composition and lighting. I'm giving it a 9, but for it to have been a 10 for me, I would like to have seen one of two things:
A tighter crop on the front bird, making it all about him, or...
A composition fully including the birds at the top, so that they aren't "chopped off".

I love the beautiful colors, and it looks like your lighting was great. A nicely done photo, but it lacks that "something extra" that would really make it jump out at me.

My personal preference would have been to see this photo cropped down so that your subject took up the majority of the space. For me, the background almost overwhelms the wonderful textures of the feathers, and the composition feels a little unbalanced. Your lighting is excellent, really bringing out the details in the bird.

Wild Eyes

A good capture of this little guy! I would like to have seen more of his head in focus, but the eyes and beak are and that does draw the eye right in to the center of his face. Very nice.
