This shows nice bokeh that is related to the subject. Cute kid, nice smile, and nice colors. My only complaint is the crop. This would have been much better with both hands showing on the shovel rather than one arm cropped out. Still very nice.

Nice holiday shot. Demonstrates the challenge well. Background is also connected to the subject for extra umph. I would have tied a ribbon to the ornament. You would have given my holiday shot a run for the money. Good luck.

I like this shot, but I think the DOF is a bit too shallow. I would have liked it better if more of the pine cone were in good focus. The colors and composition are nice.

This is a very interesting shot. The focus is great and the background compliments the subject nicely. I could see this shot being used in print. Can't find a thing wrong with it. Bumping up to 10.

This is a very nice portrait with nice bokeh. I think improvement could be made in the focus (seems to be on the color/chin/mouth rather than the eyes/nose/mouth. Additionally, the bokeh should (to achieve a wow factor) enhance the subject. The background here is fine, but could have been improved if it had picked up some of the color of the sweater. The shadow of the nose is a little distracting as well. All of that said, I still like it very much. 7.
