this is cool! you might want to clean it up just a bit (take out the noise), and you'd have a nice piece of art. you might want to consider doing something like this for a series, but going for different colors.

yikes, sierra! i don't this deserved this low of a score (i gave it a 7).

my advice to you is not to get discouraged. take advantage of the galleries and the archives. mine them for examples of what you would like to do, then set aside a little time each week to try to recreate the images that you admire. you might feel that you don't have the greatest camera in the world, but it has produced some pretty decent images for others. just keep on shooting and sharing, and sooner or later, you'll get to where you want to be! good luck,

thank you all for your wonderful and generous comments! this challenge was a lot of fun, especially considering all the hand-wringing before and during about just what was meant by 'bokeh'. there was some really great photography, as well as some really great bokeh. i congratulate all! thank you!
