what an excellent idea. if this didn't have the background that it does, it would be a front-pager, undoubtedly. if you don't believe me, go back and remove the buildings and the car, and put in blue, puffy-clouded sky. everything else is just perfect. killer shoes.

very interesting take on the challenge, that you would capture a subject that has stopped itself, rather than using the camera to stop a moving subject. i like the image, and admire your initiative; it will be interesting to see how you are rewarded. it's just a shame your subject is looking out of the frame...

interesting idea, but unfortunately, it seems so set up that it takes away from the impression of actually 'stopping motion'. it also looks like the knife is going to wind up a bit off target ;-)

nice idea, but it could stand to be a bit sharper. it would also help if the background wasn't quite so busy--that takes a lot of the initial focus away. another thing that would have helped would have been to have tried a number of different straws of different colors, then selected from the most dramatic (somehow, i think a hot red straw would have had more impact than this light yellow one.).

this is nice enough, but i imagine it would be scoring higher if the motion you've stopped was a bit more dramatic. this is not much different than catching someone mid-stretch, except it is a lot more pleasant to look at.
