Whoopee, just thought I'd send something in as I haven't for SO long! Had 4 minutes to shoot this rather lame idea, but it looks ok I think, so I'll go with it.

PP involves curves, hue/saturation, high pass filtering, sharpening and cropping.

Thanks :)

I think this was shot just before dinner :) so no, no midnight lighting involved!

Anyways, I was glad to see it got people to comment at least, 25 comments ain't bad :)

This was one of my favourite five pictures of the challenge, and i'm astounded that a) mine was the only ten, and b)you finished 139th! this is a remarkably fantastic, artistic and stylish image, beautifully composed, infectiously enjoyable, and is a total treat. the happiness and warmth and joy in the shot is wonderful. the bright colours superb and fitting. i agree completely with hotpasta, but i feel that the people who knocked this because of the adventurous crop alone are incredibly short sighted. with the head intact, it would make for a less dynamic shot and possibly not quite as well balanced. so, go you!

I love this shot and felt it was harshly dealt with..you get comments that it was pure genius (the crop) to senseless...I guess creativity tends to divide people to a love it or hate it position...I loved it and think it was magnificent and deserved to do a lot better Bragi...you are an exceptional photographer...

One question, because of the daylight hours in London/Iceland...was this shot at midnight? ;-)

I don't like the cropping in this one. It makes the picture seem incompleete somehow.

the reasons I've scored this down would be the chopped off head, and the car that sticks out from behind a tree.

Is she bashful? ;^) Interesting composition you have here. The ratio looks like a panoramic image. Good job on bringing out the colors - her dress and shoes especially jump out. Wish you luck in the challenge.

what an excellent idea. if this didn't have the background that it does, it would be a front-pager, undoubtedly. if you don't believe me, go back and remove the buildings and the car, and put in blue, puffy-clouded sky. everything else is just perfect. killer shoes.

Beautiful range of color! Looks like she's floating. Too bad her face didn't make it.

I like the strong colours and contrast here. Great work.
I'd also like to see the girl's face actually. 8

Cropping off the head was a bit risky, but I like it. There's a great sense of motion here and dress color keeps focus on subject. I probably would have cropped a bit off left side, but it's fine as it is.

I can understand why you would cut off the head to show the motion, but I think that isn't desirable here. I'm also distracted by the busy background.

It feels awfully awkward with her head chopped off.

i wish you wouldve had her head in the photo, at least i wouldve liked it better. colors are good, action is good. but i'm knocking off 2 points for the absent head, 8.

this is super fantastic! the crop is genius. composition is faultless. and the overall feel (kind of floridian / miami for some reason) is very likeable, and has great visual impact. i love all the bright high contrasty colours, the white buildings, the trees, even the odd coloured car... you can feel your attention to detail, making sure every element is just so. can't wait to see the rest of your portefolio! 10.
