The Dam Shall Give Us Powerby riotspyneComment: The concept of the dam is low tech but not this one. There is steel and concrete which require sophisticated plants to produce. However, yes the principle is as old as the hills. While this is a good image it shows us more detail of the foreground than the subject. It is a pleasing composition. 6 |

The Lowly Wrenchby bledfordComment: This a good shot of a wrench, but think, these family of tools are still in use and consider that they are made in a high tech plant which meets incredible tolerences. They are manual devices but not low tech. 6 |

Sailingby TranquilComment: Sailing in principle is low tech but once the manufacture of the item in fiberglass and all the high tech additions along with steel for shrouds and depth finders, it moves it more to the modern. However, sailing does meet the challenge. A very nice image 7 |

Word Processorby ChiquiComment: A very nice image but I would have used a more rustic candle holder because guilding requires sophisticated procedures not associated with low-tech. Yet, this image has a nice feel and a nice glow. 6 |

The Wheelby KiwiChrisComment: Good b/w with decent texture. This would have made a deeper impression if the cropping corner would begin right between the two bolts. This would leave a very attractive star-like effect. 6 |

The Old Waysby AmeliaJadeComment: Very interesting composition. One made out of wood would have raised the value here, though this is acceptable. For my preference, I would have focus on the rim to nail the eyes on the right. 6 |

Ye Olde Braces Upgradeby Joey LawrenceComment: This image is on the light side. Amazing how low tech dentistry has remained. Outside of desensitizers, they still use similar pliers. You get an extra mark for creativity and the very adept selection of subject and props with killer lighting and great employment of sepia to highlight your point. 7 |

old watermillby visaksenComment: Certainly fits the challenge. This image can be highly improved by eliminating the top part of the image. I see two advantageous choices. One crop right below the rails and tight right above the wooden duct passage and better right down the top of the stone wall. This brings the subject dead smack into the eyes. 6 |
